“It’s hard to love a world on fire.”

This is something I saw on a post, scrolling along one day. It opens up a world of complexities. For anyone in the environmental or eco-conscious sphere, it’s a given that we love and care for, want to preserve and mend the earth. But who are we trying to save it for, or from? How did we get here, and what does change really look like? How do we find joy as we fight the fires?

Through my writing, I will challenge myself to sit with these questions, letting ideas expand and change with whatever feelings may come up. I hope that my essays, poems, and sharing of art and other practices will help inspire me to keep questioning, making connections, and exploring new ways of thinking. I hope you’ll join me in my contemplation.
